Hygiene Care

Children Hygiene Education is a very attractive issue from a social perspective. It is based on the premise that children have a right to basic facilities such as school toilets, safe drinking water, clean surroundings and information on hygiene. If these conditions are created, children go to school, enjoy learning, learn better and take back to their families concepts and practices on sanitation and hygiene. In this way, investment in education is more productive. DEEP is running two types of activities; one is to involve community and the other is to involve the schools to run this campaign successfully with effective results among children’s.

In community DEEP is doing regular sessions with children especially those who are too small or not going to school. In these sessions DEEP delivers the basic knowledge of health & hygiene care among the children’s.

In schools, hygiene education aims to promote those practices that will help prevent water and sanitation-related diseases as well as promoting healthy behavior in the future generation of adults.

The combination of adequate facilities, correct behavioral practices and education is meant to have a positive impact on the health and hygiene conditions of the community as a whole, both now and in the future. The success of a school hygiene program is therefore not determined only by the number of latrines constructed and the number of hand pumps installed or water connections built. Nor is the success of a program determined simply by what children know. Knowledge that is not applied to hygiene behavior in practice has no impact on health.
